From the Wild
Now that fall is upon us, don't forget to tap into the things that nature provides in the wild. In our area, chokecherries, wild grapes, buffalo berries and wild plums are free for the picking in many wooded areas. Be sure to obtain permission from the property owner before investigating or picking, and use internet sources to verify the identity of the berries you find before eating! Many of these make delicious jams, jellies and syrups!
